The Struggle of Juggling Between Parenting & Working

Regardless of whatever your arrangement is, parenting is hard work. It’s especially daunting if you’re faced with the task of juggling between parenting and work—make that double if you’re a single parent with young kids.

Being a working parent, you think you’ll be able to have the coffee while it’s still hot, have a few adult conversations, and go to the loo by yourself. And yes, you will be. You do get a few perks. However, there’s a whole another side to it. You see, being a parent is a 24/7/365 job. You’re always on the clock.  Forget holidays, you don’t get any free weekends. The pressure is very real.

It’s Exhausting

Just being a stay-at-home parent and looking after your kids round the clock is tiring, but when you add the dynamic of a professional life to the mix, it just becomes downright exhausting. Balancing the physicality of running around after the kids and the mental attention required to do your job while keeping track of dentist appointments and little league games can be overwhelming. Come Sunday morning, you just want to lie in bed, pretending that you’re passed out – but you know you can’t.

The Constant Worry

Worrying is a normal aspect of being a parent. In fact, it becomes a state of mind from the moment your first child is born. If it doesn’t happen the moment they’re born, it definitely happens the first time they look sick, or miss a meal, or trip and fall. However, the worry working parents feel is a little different. It doesn’t come from being there and sensing there’s something wrong with your little one – it comes from not being there at all. You don’t know what they’re doing throughout the day – if they’re being bullied at school, if they’re eating right, if they’ve got hurt. You’re just not there. Yes, you do get updates if anything serious happens, but it’s not the same.

You Don’t Get Any Time for Your Own Unhappiness

This is something you probably won’t even realize until you go through a bad day. However, you don’t have any time to feel bad for yourself when you have kids to look after. You have to put a smile on your face for your little ones, so they feel that everything is alright.

A Good Daycare Center Might Be Just What You Need

Finding someone who can take care of your children and provide them the same loving care and attention the same way you do isn’t an easy task. But, it’s not impossible. A good daycare center will not only provide your precious child the TLC they deserve, but also provide a healthy learning environment that’s focused on enhancing their education and cognitive development.
