President’s Day is celebrated the third Monday of February each year. Both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were born in February, and that is why this month was chosen. President’s Day gives us a chance to honor some of our country’s greatest leaders, so why not have a little fun with it while we teach our preschoolers about it?
President’s Day Coloring Pages
Grab your crayons and markers and teach your preschooler about Lincoln and Washington as they color a picture about them! If your little one is up for a challenge, or if you have older kids that want to join in, you can find some puzzles and games here, too!
President’s Day Music
Children learn things so easily with music. So, to honor these men and have a little fun, try playing some patriotic songs! Wee Sing America is filled with our favorite patriotic hits, and even includes some songs about Lincoln and Washington! You can find the playlist on Amazon Music, Spotify, or Apple Music. The Wee Sing website (linked above) has further resources for movies and apps as well.
President’s Day Food
If you really are feeling the President’s Day vibes this year, try making some of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington’s favorite foods! Take a step back in time and recreate these recipes that were loved by our former leaders!
I hope these ideas will make your day of learning about our Presidents one to remember!
