Summer break is a great time to do fun crafts with your preschooler! The days may seem long at first, but having planned activities to break them up will help you and your preschooler adjust. Here are some ideas for easy crafts that your preschooler is sure to love.
Make cards and take them to a local care center!
Nothing brightens someone’s day like getting a handmade card. If you find yourself with a little more time on your hands this summer, help your preschooler make a batch of cards to give away. If you decide to hand deliver the cards with your little one, you’ll be sure to receive loads of smiles in return!
Create a wind chime!
When the summer winds start to blow in, nothing sounds prettier than a wind chime in the breeze! You’ll need tin cans of various sizes, some fishing line, and paints and decorations for your little one to make this wind chime their own. Once your preschooler has painted and decorated the cans, carefully poke holes in the bottoms of the cans to loop the fishing line through. Then, gather all the fishing line together and tie a knot. Once you have your knot, you can tie the wind chime onto a hook and hang it somewhere outside where it will catch lots of wind!
Create a summer scrapbook!
Whether you have big things planned for summer vacation or you just plan on staying around town with your little one, you’ll have things you want to document when it’s all over. Take pictures when you and your little one are doing something fun and get them printed out. Then, grab some colored paper and decorations and let your preschooler make a creative scrapbook about their fun summer days. You’ll then have great memories to look back on for years to come!
