Snack: Peanut Butter Rice Cakes

A quick hit of fuel for your little one!

One can be nice – sometimes this is true – but giving and sharing is more fun when there’s two.  Once you slice that banana, you will have to make more than one of these nutritious and delicious treats. Let your child spread, slice, and sprinkle with a real chef’s flair, and then see that a table is friendlier when set for two…or maybe more?

Ingredients:

  • Rice Cakes
  • Peanut butter or alternate
  • Bananas
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Spread peanut butter onto rice cake.
  2. Slice banana and place on rice cake.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.

Literacy Connection:  Show the connection of how two can be better than one with One of Each by Mary Ann Hoberman.  This cute rhyming story shows how the main character realizes that only one of each thing is not always best.  Life is more fun when you make room for friends to share the joy!
