Snack: Fruit Yogurt Bark

This snack is healthy and delicious!

The joy of cooking with young children has multiple rewards. On one hand, it creates valuable time together, and on the other hand it teaches self-reliance and creativity.  It is also the perfect time for practicing language skills and building vocabulary, so why not focus on the language of being polite?  While using this delicious fruit yogurt bark activity to measure, mix, and observe cause and effect, help your child also experience the impact of polite manners.

Materials:

  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Baking Pan
  • Lined Baking Sheet (wax paper or parchment paper)
  • Frosting spatula or butter knife

Ingredients:

  • 32 oz. of Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Honey (optional)
  • Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • Fruit topping (whatever is seasonal) strawberries, peaches, etc. 

Directions:

  1. Pour all yogurt into bowl.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
  4. Mix all ingredients well.
  5. Pour ingredients evenly onto baking pan & wax paper.
  6. Spread evenly across the pan.
  7. Top with your favorite fruit.
  8. Freeze for up to 2 hours.
  9. Cut into squares.
  10. Put extra squares into plastic zip bag and store in freezer.
