Craft: Paper Plate Pig

Arts and craft activities are important for your child to practice fine motor skills and to become familiar with their creativity. And learning about animals is important for practicing language development with vocabulary and sounds like “quack!” and “oink! So, this paper plate pig is the perfect combination! Crafting couldn’t be any easier than letting your little one paint the plate, cut the details, glue the parts, and presto…a precious pig! Who has the silliest “oinks” to go with it?
Supplies:
Pink paper
Paper plate
Pink paint
Sponge brush
Scissors
Permanent black marker
2 Googley eyes
Glue
Pink pipe cleaner
Directions:
1. Paint the surface of your paper plate pink. Let it dry.
2. Cut out a snout shape (oval) from your pink paper and draw two black dots to make nostrils.
3. Glue this to the center of the paper plate.
4. Glue googley eyes above the snout. Add facial details with a marker to the face of the pig if desired.
5. Cut ear shapes from pink paper. Fold in half to make them flop forward. Glue to the back side of the plate.
6. Wrap your pipe cleaner around your marker to form coils. Attach with glue to back of plate.
