Craft: Mashmallow Clovers

This craft is sure to bring you luck!

Ah, springtime – the season of newness blooming into existence! It is also symbolic of life showing us the early signs of future potential. Talk with your child during this activity as a way to show how possibilities are endless and to celebrate the little clover that is revered as a token of magical protection, all while practicing fine motor skills and counting.

Materials:

  1. Large marshmallow
  2. Green washable paint
  3. White paper

Directions:

  1. Place paper on a table.
  2. Dip the end of the marshmallow into the paint.
  3. Use the marshmallow to stamp 3 circles to resemble a shamrock.
  4. Use the edge of the marshmallow to create the stem.

Literacy Connection:

The story of Willow’s Whispers by Lana Button is the perfect companion to the shamrock painting as a way of connecting the new possibilities your child has and showing how sometimes it takes a little magic inside to speak up for yourself!
