When fall leaves start drifting down, creating a batch of Chocolate Acorns is the perfect kitchen adventure.
Begin by letting your child unwrap the chocolate kisses – great for little fingers’ grip strength and coordination. Carefully pressing the cookie onto the chocolate builds concentration and fine motor precision. Once the acorn look-alikes are complete, it’s time for the taste test! Exploring the craft with the senses reinforces descriptive language, so encourage explanations of all those yummy textures and flavors. More than just a sweet treat, Chocolate Acorns create connections to the natural world. Go outdoors and gather real acorns to compare shapes or look for signs of changing seasons. However you decide to create this fun family craft, you’ll be making sweet memories!
