Craft: Oil and Water Beads

Oil and Water Craft
Can oil and water mix? They can if you are trying to mix up some fun and learning! Use this mesmerizing science experiment for bonding time to help your child learn new vocabulary words and experiment with cause and effect. Be sure to have your child predict what may happen, and then explain how the mixture creates beads because oil and water don’t mix.
Materials:
Clear plastic cup
Clear baby oil
Eye dropper
Colored water divided into ice cube tray
Directions:
Fill clear plastic cup 3/4 way with baby oil.
Mix various coloras of water divided into an ice cube tray.
Use an eye dropper filled with one color and squeeze drops into the cup of baby oil.
Continue dropping various colors into the cup of baby oil.
*You’ll notice the water does not mix with the oil, and forms really cool colored droplets!
