After being cooped up all winter, we’re sure your preschool child is anxious to step outside and enjoy the warmer weather. Give one of these springtime activities a try—kiddos will love them, and parents will too!
Create your own flower crown.
This spring craft requires minimal materials and can be customized to your child’s liking. All you need is floral wire and a decent amount of flowers of your choice. Real or fake, make sure your flowers have a long enough stem to attach to the wire. You can also simply grab a glue gun and secure each flower to the wire, one by one. Get creative with your kiddos and say hello to your flower kings and queens!
Go on a springtime scavenger hunt.
Make a list of things to search for in your community, such as specific birds, insects, and different types of flowers. Head to the park or find a local trail, and start searching! Wishing you could hold onto the memories you make forever? Take a photo each time you find something on the list, and then create a scrapbook to add to throughout the season.
Make DIY fruity popsicles.
This delicious treat is sure to keep you cool as temperatures heat up this spring. To make your own Mango Banana popsicles, you need popsicle molds, about 2 cups of frozen mango chunks, one sliced frozen banana, and your favorite fruit juice (orange or pineapple would work great). Blend the ingredients together until you’ve reached a smooth consistency, and then pour the mixture into your popsicle molds. Freeze them overnight, and when you wake up you’ll have a sweet, fruity treat to enjoy.
Draw with sidewalk chalk.
Break out the sidewalk chalk and let your little artists get to work. Practice spelling words, drawing creative pictures, or playing any one of these sidewalk chalk games:
- Hop-Scotch
- Four Square
- Tic-Tac-Toe
- Hangman
