Your Preschooler’s Back to School Routine

Your Preschooler’s Back to School Routine

Heading back to school after the holidays can sneak up quickly, but it doesn’t have to catch you or your little one off guard this year! To get your preschooler back on their normal schedule, try one of these ideas.

  • Gradually wake your preschooler up earlier! By pushing up wake up time little by little, your preschooler won’t even realize that they’re getting out of bed earlier each morning. This way, when school starts back up, your preschooler will be used to getting up earlier and in turn will have a more productive morning at home and at school.
  • Prioritize learning over the break! The time off from school may seem like the perfect time to watch movies and catch up on sleep, but the break also provides your little one with lots of opportunities to learn new things. Make their transition back into school easier by taking trips to the library to get new books, visiting museums, and participating in other brain-stimulating activities with your child.
  • Make a craft for your preschooler’s teacher! Getting back into the school groove can be just as hard for educators. Get your little one excited to head back to school and see their teacher by making a heartfelt craft with them. Ideas include a homemade hot chocolate mix, a gift box of candy and popcorn for a movie night, or even a new pair of gloves for cold winter days.

By planning ahead, your preschooler can easily be set up for success in 2019. Make this year the best back to school season yet by trying one of these fun ideas.
