WEATHER POLICY

Policies and Procedures to keep our families safe during inclement weather
WHEN AND HOW IS SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER?
As the winter season approaches, we will begin to enter that part of the school year when we experience our most inclement weather.
We want to take this opportunity to provide you the information on how decisions are made and communicated when the weather is severe. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we always follow a set of guidelines to make decisions about whether the school will be open, closed, delayed or dismissed early. The decision to operate is one of the most difficult and challenging decisions we face. The school must make a decision that puts safety as the priority for students and staff. We realize, at times, our decisions may not fit with your individual circumstances.
How do we decide whether or not to close due to snow, and/or ice?
The school administrators continuously monitor weather conditions and consult with local Law Enforcement.
When will the decision be made?
When administration makes the decision whether or not to close school they will decide by 6 a.m. or earlier in order to communicate with families in a timely manner.
How can you find out if schools are closed, delayed or dismissed early?
The school will send a tadpoles message via email, phone and/or text message if you provided this information during enrollment. Additionally, you can check our Facebook page for updates.
If we are operating on a normal schedule, no announcements will be made. When the school is closed, all activities scheduled that day will be cancelled.
