During the holidays, some of the greatest Christmas tree ornaments or fireplace decorations are none other than heart-warming crafts made by your own preschooler!
Spending a little more time indoors than usual? Or have some extra holiday time off of work? These three, kid-friendly crafts are perfect for the upcoming winter season.
Snowman Names
All you need to do to make these cute snowmen is to cut out small circles of white construction paper- each circle for one letter of your child’s name, plus one more for the head (and don’t forget to add a hat).. Decorate with buttons, glitter, cotton balls, or whatever your preschooler’s heart desires.
Painted Snowflakes
There are two options in making these snowflakes! Fold a piece of white paper in half two times, then cut shapes at the crease and along the outer edges. When your preschooler unfolds it, she will see a magically detailed flake! Another option is to cut one-inch wide strips of paper, stack them on top of each other in different directions, and glue them all in the center.
After you have constructed your flake, the real fun starts! Hand over some glue and glitter, and get workin’! These snowflakes will transform your home into a winter wonderland!
Gingerbread Houses
The timeless, ultimate holiday kitchen staple! Bake your own gingerbread (or if you aren’t superhuman, secretly buy the store bought kit and pretend like it’s homemade). Either way, gingerbread houses are fun, festive, and a yummy way to be creative with your children.
