Whether or not you grew up celebrating St. Patrick’s Day (or if you were always leery of being pinched), there are many fun possibilities that you can do with your preschooler for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day. Here are a few of those fun ideas to celebrate with your preschooler this March:
Get your preschooler moving and grooving!
You can take advantage of St. Patrick’s Day to involve bonus movement and exercise in your preschooler’s day. Whether you prefer to be indoor, outdoor, or both, set a timer and have your child run around looking for as many green things as possible in a specified amount of time. As an additional bonus, see if your child can put the items back (as best as can be remembered) in less time than your child found the items.
Make collage art.
Let your preschooler make an art collage using as many green items as possible. Do not forget to snap a picture of you and your preschooler donning your green clothes. Then you can send a copy to grandparents or to stick on your own refrigerator.
Ice some sugar cookies.
Whether you and your preschooler make homemade sugar cookies or buy pre-made ones from the store, your preschooler can enjoy spreading on green icing and/or green sprinkles.
Read St. Patrick’s Day books together.
