Christmas isn’t just about the tree, stockings, and gifts; it’s a festive puzzle with pieces from every corner of the world. Let’s piece this puzzle together and explore unique traditions:

1. Norway’s Hidden Brooms:

In Norway, it’s believed that Christmas Eve coincides with the arrival of witches. So, people hide their brooms to prevent them from being taken for a midnight ride.

2. Iceland’s Yule Lads:

Instead of just one Santa Claus, Icelandic children get to experience 13 Yule Lads. Each night, a different lad visits, either leaving gifts or playing pranks.

3. Venezuela’s Roller-Skating Mass:

In Caracas, it’s customary for people to roller-skate to the early morning church services from December 16th to 24th. Streets are even cleared to ensure skaters’ safety.

4. Ethiopia’s Ganna Celebrations:

On January 7th, Ethiopians celebrate Christmas or ‘Ganna’ with colorful robes, special services, and a game that’s similar to hockey.

5. Italy’s La Befana:

While Santa is globally renowned, Italian kids await La Befana, a kind witch who delivers presents on January 5th, Epiphany Eve.

Conclusion:

The essence of Christmas—love, sharing, and gratitude—is universal, yet its manifestations are wonderfully varied. At Kids ‘R’ Kids, we cherish this diversity, guiding our preschoolers towards a future where they appreciate, respect, and rejoice in global traditions.
