Preschool welcomes children to the world of learning. Between the ages of 3 and 5, children benefit from a balanced blend of structured learning and play-based activities. At Kids ‘R’ Kids Avalon Park, we gently introduce structured learning as it can be daunting if introduced too quickly. Our primary goal at our Preschool Program is to provide a safe and secure environment, and a close second is to prepare your children for future academic success.

Preparing for Kindergarten
We recognize how important Preschool can be to prepare kids for the next step. To accomplish this, we have certain goals to meet before sending your children off to Kindergarten. Ideally, students should be able to recognize letters, numbers, colors, and shapes; follow multi-step directions; express themselves clearly through words and sentences; and engage in cooperative play with peers. Fine motor abilities like holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, and managing personal belongings support classroom independence, while gross motor skills such as running, jumping, and balancing help with physical development.
Social-emotional readiness is equally important—children should be learning to manage emotions, follow rules and routines, and separate from parents and guardians with confidence. Milestones such as using the bathroom independently further prepares them for a successful transition to kindergarten.
