Easter activities for VPK students in Orlando, FL.

Toddlers enjoy hands-on fun

  • Color matching: Create a space for your toddler to match colors. Use several different colored plastic eggs. Add an array of mini-colored pompoms and ask your toddler to match the colored pompoms with the eggs. They will be proud of their accomplishment.
  • Patterns to keep them thinking: Here is a fun play with patterns using Peeps. What is Easter without Peeps? Using paints that are the same colors as the Peeps, ask your child to create patterns. Two pink Peeps, two Blue Peeps, two Yellow Peeps etc. They will have to dip the Peep into the paint and create a bunny pattern.
  • Numbers are fun: Use a counting tray to encourage your toddler to recognize numbers and counting. Create the tray by using an empty egg carton. Draw numbers in the egg carton. Have your child add either jelly beans or mini pompoms to each egg carton hole. They will enjoy counting out the items to put into the egg carton.

Stimulating Activities for
School-aged children

  • Addition fun: Using an egg carton, create addition math problems in each egg holder. ie:  1 + 2 = _____. Let your child use items to add or subtract to come up with the answer. Be creative with the items that you use. Try mini erasers, jelly beans, pompoms, etc.
  • Graphing: Teach your kids to work with graphs. Make a jelly bean grid. Color coordinate the graph with colored jelly beans and numbers 1–5 for the labels. Count out the different colored eggs. Talk about what color has the most and least.
  • Easter Bingo: What child doesn’t enjoy a good game of bingo? You can find several printable bingo boards online. Use jelly beans instead of bingo discs. Just watch out—your child may be eating the winnings! Another idea would be Easter stamps to identify the winning number.

Your children will love to get their hands on these and other Easter-themed activities! The internet has several different ideas and printouts that you may utilize. Using these and many other Easter-themed ideas will incorporate an excitement for learning for your young learners.
