Setting a Daily Routine for Your Preschooler

Preschoolers thrive on structure and routines. Having a daily routine helps children learn the skills they need to succeed in life! Setting a daily routine for your preschooler will help them develop discipline and instill good habits.

Include activities!

A good daily routine for preschoolers should include plenty of activities that stimulate learning and development. This may include playtime, outdoor activities, music and movement, art projects, free play, story time and supervised learning activities. You should also plan for regular meals and snacks, as well as quiet time and plenty of sleep!

And even more activities!

In addition to regular activities and meals, you can also include other activities in your preschooler’s daily routine. Incorporate a few minutes of quiet time each day, and make sure your child has enough time to explore their interests and make discoveries through play. Encourage your child to help with household tasks like cleaning and preparing meals, which can help foster important skills in responsibility and independence.

Consistent bedtime routine!

It is important to establish consistent bedtime routines for your preschooler as well. Start by setting a regular time for your child to wind down each evening, like taking a bath and reading a story. A calm and consistent night-time routine will ensure your child gets the rest and relaxation they need.

By creating a daily routine for your preschooler, you can help them learn important life skills and foster healthy habits in preparation for school. With structure, consistency and lots of fun activities, your child will thrive in their preschool years.
