Now that your child is school age, it is your priority to find the right Pre-K and Kinder program that is safe, nurturing and challenging, rich with language and positive experiences to foster a love of learning.
Is your child 4 or 5 years old? Are you looking for the right program to maximize these early years in school readiness? We have the right classroom for your child! Our AdvancEd Program’s goal is to help each child succeed to his fullest potential, which is why each unit of study was developed with the learner in mind. By individualizing instruction based on assessment, students can engage in activities that maximize their development with us in the four core areas: language, cognitive, and social emotional, and physical development. Each engaging activity is tied to a specific learning goal in one of these critical areas.
These learning goals are shared with families each week in our family connection letter in your home activities folder. We encourage families to participate alongside their learners to create more success for the child.
AP Daily routine: A balance of whole group and small group activities take place daily which foster learning in multisensory ways. When the students use more of their senses, they have a greater recall of information. For this reason, we continue the “learning through play” reasoning which is the foundation of the curriculum.
What you can expect: Now that our students are culminating their preschool years in this program, we encourage them to apply their knowledge of letters and sounds and encourage a strong foundation of phonemic awareness skills. For their Kindergarten readiness, we assist them in writing their name, building their confidence to associate sounds in writing and continuing instruction in the conventions of writing. Beginning to decode and apply high frequency word knowledge is another indicator for primary success that is established in a small group setting to build the student’s confidence and love of learning.
A classroom community is developed as the children work cooperatively in learning groups, guided by the teacher in multisensory ways. When the students use the manipulatives to show their work as they learn new skills, they can take abstract concepts and make realistic applications. This is also how we make learning FUN! A multitude of cognitive skills are developed through literature based themes and hands on learning opportunities during this critical year of setting the stage for elementary success!
