How to Create a Successful Daily Routine For Your Preschooler

Routines are important for preschoolers because they provide structure and help children know what to expect. Establishing healthy routines helps children learn how to be independent, builds self-esteem, and creates a sense of security! A daily routine gives preschoolers the opportunity to practice important skills like organizing their belongings and getting ready for the day. Here are some tips for creating a successful daily routine for preschoolers:

Start the day off with a routine

Establishing a regular wake up time, breakfast, and morning activities helps kids adjust to the day and provides them with a sense of accomplishment. It’s also important to make time for play and learning activities, which can help children with their development!

Break up the day with regular snacks and breaks

Set aside time for healthy snacks and rest time for kids to recharge throughout the day. It’s also important to provide structured activities that are age-appropriate and interesting!

Create a bedtime routine

Establishing a regular bedtime routine helps kids wind down and prepare for sleep. This can include brushing teeth, taking a bath, and reading a story. It’s important to be consistent in following the routine. This helps children learn what to expect throughout the day and builds trust between you and your child.

A routine, and the skills of discipline and consistency it develops, will set your preschooler up for success both now and in the future!
