It is Library Month again, which means it’s time to hit the books. But wait a minute – libraries offer so much more than that! They are a great place for kids of all ages to explore, learn, and have fun. Below are five things your preschooler might enjoy on a visit to the library this month:
Listening to Stories
One of the best things about going to the library is listening to stories. Most libraries have story time sessions for different age groups, so your preschooler can listen to stories that are just right for them. Story time is a great way for kids to develop their listening skills and imaginations.
Browsing the Books
Of course, one of the main reasons to visit the library is to borrow books! Let your preschooler choose some books that they’re interested in and help them find them on the shelves. They’ll love looking at all the different books available and may even find a new favorite.
Doing Puzzles and Games
Libraries usually have a selection of puzzles and games that kids can play. These are great for developing problem-solving skills and fine motor skills. Plus, they’re just plain fun!
Making Crafts
Many libraries offer craft sessions for kids. These are usually themed around a particular book or season. Preschoolers will love getting creative and making something they can take home with them.
Exploring the Library
Libraries are big, busy places and there is so much to explore! Show your preschooler around the library, pointing out all the different areas and what they’re for. They will be fascinated by all the amenities.
