Are you at a loss for how to fill the Fourth of July with fun activities for your preschooler? Or are your children not excited about this national holiday? Here are some great ways to entertain even your youngest children to get them in the Fourth of July Spirit!
Start with Some Games
Get your kiddos’ energy up by playing a game! Put a twist on a classic game, like pin the stars and stripes on the flag, or pin the hat on Uncle Sam. If that doesn’t work, fill up some red, white, and blue balloons with water and play tag with them!
Get creative
Bringing out your kiddo’s artsy side is a great way to enjoy the day while staying inside. Try a craft like making popsicle stick flags, or even red, white, and blue wreaths.
Have Some Fun in the Kitchen
Baking some festive treats isn’t just fun—it’s tasty too! Bake some sugar cookies or your favorite cupcakes, and then let your kids decorate with some red, white, and blue icing and sprinkles.
Don’t Forget the Fireworks
A Fourth of July classic, fireworks are a must for a classic July Fourth celebration. Grab a picnic blanket, cook out, or watch from the truck bed with your tasty treats—the possibilities are endless! If your children are easily startled, make a guessing game out of it by having them predict what color is coming next, or bring some noise-canceling headphones just in case.
Teach your kids about the Fourth of July
Never miss an opportunity for learning! Your kids are never too young to learn about the Declaration of Independence and what freedom means to you and your family.
