“Send a Card to a Friend” day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the special friendships in your preschooler’s life and teach them about the value of kindness and appreciation! Here are some ways that you can celebrate this day with your child
Choose a friend to send a card to
Help your child choose a special friend to send a card to. This could be a classmate, a neighbor, or a family friend.
Make the card together
Have your child help you create a homemade card to send to their friend. They can decorate the card with stickers, markers, and other craft materials.
Write a thoughtful message
Encourage your child to think about what they appreciate about their friend and have them write a message expressing their feelings. This is a great way to teach your child about expressing gratitude and showing appreciation.
Send the card
Once the card is finished, have your child help you address and stamp the envelope. Then, let them help you drop the card in the mailbox or send it through the mail.
