The New Year is upon us, and we’re all about New Year’s resolutions and committing to be more organized and productive for 2020. With preschoolers, this can be a lot trickier to accomplish, so here are some things to implement this next year to be more productive with the time you have.
Put things in their place. It seems really simple, but it’s harder than it sounds, but it’s so helpful if you actually do it! It’s easier to put things away right the first time. Isn’t this what we tell our kids? If you have a key rack, put your keys back every time you get home and you won’t have to search for them in the morning that you’re in a rush.
Determine your priorities for each day. We want to get everything done every day, but with little ones, that’s just not realistic some days. So, make a list of the top 2–3 things that are priority for that day, and feel accomplished when you get them done! It’s okay if you don’t get everything done. Raising children is a big enough feat without adding on anything else. If your kids are taken care of, you have done well.
Include your little ones in the chores. If you have a lot of house chores to get done and you’re not sure how to accomplish them all, to make sure your children don’t wreck another part of the house, let them help you! If you’re concerned with the chemicals of your cleaning products, consider switching to natural based cleaners so that your little ones can help wash the windows and mop the floors. They can also put away silverware and wipe out chairs! Find fun little things for them to do and you’ll be getting your chores done and entertaining them all at the same time.
We hope these life hacks can make your new year a little more enjoyable.
