Travel Tips for Summer Trips with Preschoolers

travel tips

Your preschooler can hardly wait for summertime to begin! No more school and more time with you! What could be better? As you start planning your exciting summer trips with your little ones, it is important that you remember the following tips to have a safe and fun experience.

Sunny Days

“Sunny days, sweepin’ the clouds away”! The sun is shining, and your kiddo is ready to jump in the pool and have a blast! Make sure that your preschooler is protected when the sun is beaming in their face. Don’t forget to stock up on sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. The last thing you want to be worrying about is a nasty sunburn while enjoying your summer getaway.

Road Trip Entertainment

Your summer plans might involve a road trip. Road tripping is sometimes one of the best parts of family trips. Whether your trip is 7 hours long or only one, you should consider investing in some road trip entertainment for your littles. A few ideas are coloring books, iPad fun, driving games, or even some fun summer movies. Your child will look forward to the road trip part of your vacation if they know they have lots of activities to enjoy. It will make mom and dad’s lives a bit easier too, haha!

Downtime

Your vacation is jam-packed and filled with plenty of exciting activities. Being out in the sun can definitely be exhausting and bring out meltdowns. Your little one may start getting cranky if they don’t have their afternoon nap. Make sure that you’re still finding time for some much needed rest and downtime. When you’re planning your schedule, don’t forget to include some restful activities so your family doesn’t get extremely worn out by the end of the trip. Rest time is the best time!

Have a safe and happy summer!
