Practice Gratitude
Instead of making a resolution for something you want to achieve, make one about a change in attitude and perspective! By making a resolution to be more thankful, you will be pledging to change the outlook in your family which will make whatever the new year is full of, that much better!
Spend More Time Outside
Resolve to spend more time outside in the new year. Whether you decide to go on a walk every night after dinner, to eat breakfast on the porch once per week, or to go camping a few times per year, you will benefit physically and spiritually by getting outside more often!
Read Together
Studies show that children lose interest in reading when they stop reading aloud with their family. Help your children build a foundation of loving to read by including reading together in your weekly routine. If your child is getting tired of reading the same books, get a library card to vary your selection for free.
Create a 2020 Bucket List
As part of your resolutions this year, consider creating a 2020 bucket list! Gather your family and brainstorm a list of places you want to eat, visit, and explore. Your child will have so much fun thinking of all the things they want to do and if you run out of time this year, you can roll them over to next year’s list.
Limit Screen Time
A great resolution for your family this year is to limit screen time! Consider ditching the screens for a couple hours per day or for one day per week. Just think of all the fun memories you and your family can make when screens aren’t a tempting distraction!
