You don’t have to break the bank to get your preschooler an adorable costume that they’ll love. Here are some totally doable, kid-approved DIY Halloween costumes that you can make at home—it’s more fun that way!
Kitty cat
With some face paint, an ear headband, and a creatively made tail, your little one will be absolutely adorable. Sew some fake fur to a wire hanger to fashion a tail for your little kitty, and maybe throw on a tutu for extra fluffiness.
Super hero
You’d be amazed at what adding a cape can do! Draw the Superman logo on an old tee shirt or have your little one come up with his own hero name and logo. A felt mask and a cape made of an old sheet or some shiny fabric will be sure to make your kiddo feel super.
Spooky ghost
An oldie but a goodie! Channel “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” and cut some holes in a large white sheet, and your preschooler will be both spooky and adorable.
Pretty princess
If your little one is a princess, this is her day to shine. With a sparkly tutu, costume jewelry, a beautiful tiara, and maybe a wand or fairy wings to make her a fairy princess, she’ll be the most beautiful princess there ever was.
Cool Cowboy
If you’ve got some cowboy boots and a hat just dying to be worn, your little one just might need to be a cowboy for Halloween. Cut out a star to make him a sheriff and put him in a plaid shirt, if you have one, for the full effect.
