Games for Preschoolers During Summertime

Games for Preschoolers During Summertime at Kids 'R' Kids Landstar, preschool, daycare, childcare

The new school year is quickly approaching, but summer isn’t over yet! Take full advantage of the last few weeks of fun by trying one of these summertime games. From water balloon baseball to hide and seek, you won’t want summer to end!

Scavenger Hunt

This engaging activity can be done indoors or outdoors. Create an exciting scavenger hunt for your preschoolers with a special prize at the very end and helpful hints leading them every step of the way. Destinations such as “the big tree in the backyard” or “the basketball goal in the driveway” are easily identifiable outdoor spots. If you’re playing indoors, you can use furniture such as “the red couch” or “the fridge” to help your little one find the next clue.

Water Balloon Baseball

Fill up a large amount of water balloons and get ready for this fun game! Grab a baseball bat, set up your bases, and assign positions. Since a catcher won’t be necessary for this alternative version of baseball, you can simply race through the bases as fast as you can and see who completes a home run the fastest!

Water Hose Limbo

Water hose limbo is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day while having a blast! Simply place your thumb over the hose spout or use a hose nozzle to get a stream going. Each child must try to pass under the stream of water while leaning back. If they get wet, they are eliminated! Lower the hose little by little every time someone passes successfully. The final winner is the player who passes successfully under the lowest stream without getting wet.

Classic Games

If your little one is feeling bored this summer, you can’t go wrong with a few classic games! If you’re feeling sneaky, hide and seek is the ultimate indoor game. Or, you can head outside and expel some energy with a fast-paced game of tag. If you have a pool in your backyard, why not play Marco Polo? As long as an adult is supervising, they’re sure to have a great time.

Say goodbye to summertime boredom; time flies when you’re having fun, and these games will make the day fly by!
