It’s said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not start your preschooler’s day out on the right foot with a healthy breakfast? Healthy breakfasts don’t have to be time-consuming, nor do they have to be gross – they can actually be breakfasts that your child likes! Here are a few easy breakfast ideas for you to try with your preschooler.
A smoothie makes for a great breakfast. Pack in fruit, some yogurt, and even a vegetable like spinach and your little one will never know what’s really inside the yummy concoction they’re drinking! Smoothies are easy to take on the go so if you’re running late for preschool, just get a cup or two that have straws attached to them, and let your preschooler “drink” their breakfast in the car.
Another easy breakfast idea is an “egg in a basket”! To make an egg in a basket, cut a hole out of the middle of a piece of bread with a cup. Then, crack an egg in the hole and cook in a skillet until the egg is at your little one’s desired level of doneness. Not only is this breakfast fun to make, but your child will also have fun eating it while getting some good protein from the egg.
An easy make-ahead breakfast for your little one is a breakfast parfait popsicle! Take some popsicle molds and put vanilla yogurt, various fruits, and some granola top, then insert the popsicle stick and freeze overnight. In the morning, and for the next few days, you won’t have to even think about cooking breakfast because you can just pull a popsicle out of the freezer for your little one! They’ll think it’s neat being able to eat a popsicle for breakfast and you won’t have to cook! Win-win.
Get your child’s day started off right with a healthy, fun breakfast that will keep their tummy full until lunchtime!
