Podcasts are all the rage these days and perfect for our preschoolers, too! Too much television can be sensory overload, but podcasts give children the opportunity to use their imaginations, build vocabulary, and improve listening skills. Try out these podcasts with your children the next time you have a long car ride, or they are out of screen time!
Disney Story Central
This podcast condenses favorite Disney stories, narrates them, and adds music! Your child will love hearing familiar favorites and will feel like they are at story time while they listen.
In Stories Podcast – Free Children’s Story Podcast, each week a story is performed! The story could be a retelling of a fairytale, something original, or another classic story. Your child will get to use their imagination as they listen.
Another storytelling podcast is Story Pirates. This one is very silly! The stories are written by kids and then performed on the podcast. Parents will especially enjoy this one as the author throws in some jokes for us, too!
But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids
Is your preschooler always asking “why?” This will be the perfect podcast for you! Via email, kids can submit their questions and the podcast hosts an expert who can answer their questions.
Tumble Science Podcast
Educational and entertaining for the whole family, Tumble Science has scientists come on the show to answer common questions. This podcast is sure to engage children of all ages and parents, too.
Give podcasts a try and see what your preschooler thinks! Podcasts are such an easy way to incorporate education into your child’s daily routine without adding more screen time into their days.
