All About Halloween With Your Preschooler!

Halloween with preschoolers

Halloween is just around the corner and your preschooler has probably already started asking about it! Holidays are special for all of us, but especially our children. Let’s take advantage of their excitement to create memories and photo opportunities that they will look back on fondly. Use the tips below to ensure you make the most of this holiday with your preschooler!

Choose a Costume

Choosing a costume is probably one part of Halloween your child is most looking forward to! There are tons of ideas online for a DIY costume and your child will love helping you get it all together. If you don’t have time to make a costume or it’s not your thing, take your child to a store or two that sell costumes! Give your child a time limit if they are having a hard time deciding and remind them they can be something else next year.

Decorate a Candy Bag

Making a bag for Halloween candy is a practical and fun craft to do with your preschooler. Gather art supplies for decorating and find some sort of bag. A plain white gift bag or a brown paper grocery bag are a great canvas for your child’s candy bag creativity. Other supplies that work well are markers, glitter glue, themed stickers, or cut-out shapes.

Host a Halloween Party

Hosting a Halloween party is always fun! This is a great option for families who aren’t ready for their children to start trick-or-treating yet or for children who may frighten easily. You could invite family or friends, or both, to your party! Have your child help you decorate with Halloween themed crafts, like a jack-o-lantern, and make festive snacks, like cookies decorated to look like candy corn.

These fun activities will help you and your family create lasting memories that will be talked about all year long, not to mention make your Halloween this year extra special!
