Ideas For Cooking Quick & Easy Dinners To Make with Your Preschooler

Cooking with your preschooler can be a fun and educational activity that helps them develop important skills such as following instructions, measuring ingredients, and learning about different foods and flavors! It’s also a great way to spend quality time together and bond as a family. Here are three quick and easy dinner ideas that you and your preschooler can make together:

Pasta With Marinara Sauce And Vegetables

This classic meal is easy to prepare and customize to your family’s tastes. Start by boiling some pasta according to the package instructions. While the pasta is cooking, heat up some marinara sauce in a separate pan. You can also add some diced vegetables, such as bell peppers, onions, and zucchini, to the sauce for added nutrition. Let your preschooler help measure out the ingredients and stir the sauce! Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the sauce. Serve with a sprinkle of grated cheese on top.

Quesadillas With Beans And Cheese

Quesadillas are a simple and delicious meal that your preschooler can help prepare! Start by heating up a pan over medium heat. Have your child spread some refried beans on one side of a tortilla, and then top with grated cheese. Place another tortilla on top and press down lightly. Let your preschooler help flip the quesadilla when the bottom is golden brown! Cut the quesadilla into wedges and serve with some salsa and sour cream on the side.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup

Grilled cheese and tomato soup is a comfort food classic that your preschooler will love helping to make. Start by buttering two slices of bread and placing some cheese in between. Have your preschooler help you place the sandwich in a pan over medium heat! When the bottom slice is golden brown, flip the sandwich and cook the other side. While the grilled cheese is cooking, heat up some canned tomato soup in a separate pan. Serve the grilled cheese with the tomato soup for dipping.

Cooking with your preschooler can be a rewarding and fun activity that helps them develop important skills, and fosters a love of healthy, homemade meals! These three dinner ideas are quick and easy to make, and are sure to be a hit with the whole family.
