Keeping in Touch with Preschool Friends over Summer Break

in touch

While it’s sweet to see your little one make friends their first year of preschool, it can be hard to explain to them that they won’t be seeing those friends every day during the summer. If your preschooler is feeling a little blue and missing their friends during the break from school, try one of these tips to cheer them up and keep them in touch!

Write letters!

While writing letters is nothing new, it’s a fun way to stay connected with friends. Help your little one write a letter to their friend about what they’ve been doing this summer. Let your preschooler go crazy decorating the letter and envelope with markers, stickers, and crayons. After their letter is sent, your preschooler will love checking the mail each day for a letter back from their friend!

Take a trip together!

If your schedules allow, take a trip with the family of your preschooler’s friend. Whether you do a small stay-cation or go on a trek across the country, traveling with friends is always fun and giving your child memories with their best friend is priceless!

Create a shared online calendar!

Before school ends for the summer, get together with some parents of children in your preschooler’s class and create a shared calendar of everyone’s summer plans. Planning activities with other families will be much easier when you know when people will be in town.

Enroll in Summer Camp!

Your child can see her friends every day at summer camp! Enroll in our summer camp program for a summer of fun and learning!

This summer, help your little one stay in touch with their school friends by trying one of these fun ideas!
