Choosing an Extended Day Care Program for School Aged Children

After school program in East Orlando FL

Most parents don’t have work hours that conveniently match their child’s school hours so finding a good Extended Day Care Program is important. Even when they are not in school, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating child care environment. Enrolling your child in a before- and after-school child care program allows them to balance learning and fun through a variety of exciting experiences in a safe & educational environment. From homework help to fun physical activities, a good Extended Day Care Program should be designed to be not only convenient for parents but fun & engaging for children.

Why Choose KRK Avalon Park for an Extended Day Care Program?

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Avalon Park, we always go above and beyond what is expected and required. We are more than just “baby sitters” and parents have trusted us for decades to provide quality care, educational experiences, and fun learning opportunities for their children as they grow and develop.

Our bus transportation makes it easy to join us with pick-up and delivery of students to elementary schools throughout the community. Our bus will be picking up and delivering children to both Kids ‘R’ Kids facilities from Eight Local Schools – Avalon, Camelot, Stone Lakes, Timber Lakes and Elementary School. We have three air-conditioned buses to service the area schools with our experienced and safe drivers. Our buses are equipped with seat belts for all children to safely transport them before and after school.

Extended Day Care Program Curriculum

Kids ‘R’ Kids Avalon Park has award-winning curriculum and it’s not hard to see why. The Extended Day Care Program offers a challenging and fun time filled with school-age-appropriate learning & physical activities. The planned activities are designed to build children’s confidence and skill sets while they engage in fun. Time is devoted to individuals and also to small group projects that encourage independent work that is monitored and guided by our staff and teachers.

Here are just a few of the “Clubs” your child can participate in when enrolled in the Extended Day Care program:

Action Club – activities that are fun and exciting that foster building relationships, sharing, good sportsmanship, taking responsibility, trust, kindness and compassion.

Artistry Club – give the kids a chance to develop their own artistic styles through exploration of many mediums- painting, crafts, clay, chalk and more.

Be a Star Club – Develop and explore their acting and musical skills through improvisation, skits, drama games.  They also get to play on the Wii and X-Box stations.

Computer Whiz Club – Explore games, create programs and investigate what the web has to offer.

Cross Fit challenge Club – Fun physical activities that strengthen core muscles and promote overall body health.

Ooey, Gooey and Gross – Hands on science activities that the children will be involved with such as making edible worms, slim, and paint.

Page Turners Club – Club members hone their skills as they try their hands at writing of all kinds – creative, informative, skill and fun!

Snack Attack – cooking activities that are done every Wednesday that combine math, science, health, and literacy skill building with creative fun snacks.

Weird Science – kids enjoy participating in a range of cool and crazy experiments; learning strange facts; and working on funky projects. Members concoct slippery slime, JELL-O that glows, invisible ink and much more.

Our campus includes incredible features like a technology center, playgrounds, a splash pad, and cozy student rooms. In the Extended Day Care Program, students can rotate through “Zones” that include The Discovery Zone, The Open Air Zone, The Game Zone, The Media Zone, The Construction Zone, and The Nova Zone where they can explore physical activities, arts & crafts, games & media, and building.
