A bucket list is a list that contains the experiences a person hopes to accomplish during a period of time. A summertime bucket list for preschoolers is a list specifically designed for a preschooler to tackle during the fun summer months. As summertime can be a season untethered from schedules, it is the perfect time to create a list of things your preschooler might want to try and do.
Crafts
Does your preschooler enjoy doing crafts? If so, his summer could be full of crafty options. He could paint a birdhouse, pet rocks, or even a mural. He could make a lot of different crafts using paper plates, or he could be messy and make slime! The craft ideas are endless.
Simple Fun
You could also have simple ideas on your preschooler’s bucket list. She could plant a garden, fly a kite, or catch fireflies. Camping out in the living room or building a fort is also usually lots of fun. Simple options could be things that you do not have time for during the busyness of the school year.
Many of the simple ideas might also overlap with things you could do at home. Blowing bubbles, learning to ride a bike, taking a bike ride, having a pillow fight, eating watermelon, and doing a scavenger hunt are options for staying close to home.
Out and About
For things to do away from home, there will be inexpensive options as well as options that might be costly. It depends on where you live and what is offered. A picnic, viewing a sunrise or sunset on the beach or another unique location, visiting a parent at work, and a hike could all be low cost options; whereas, going to the zoo, visiting a water park, or seeing a children’s museum might require an admission fee.
Take some time to sit down and create a bucket list this summer for your preschooler. It is a great way to keep them entertained and busy through the summer. The steady exposure and opportunities will help your preschooler enjoy the summer and foster continued development and growth.
