How Your Child Can Benefit from Summer Camps

Don’t let the games and fun fool you – summer camps are an excellent way for your little one to learn new skills and hone their studies.

Every year, in the sunny puddles of summer, more than 14 million children across the country head off to day and overnight camps. And while these camps accompany a lot of smiles, laughs and whoopees, they also provide an opportunity for your kids to develop important skills and even learn new subjects—in a fun way.

Thinking of enrolling your child this summer in a summer camp? We say, “Do-hoo!” for the summer camp experience will:

Enhance their self confidence

Summer camps push kids outside of their comfort zones. They don’t have you around them to help them dress up, do their hair, tie their laces, serve them food and everything else that kind of slips them into homesickness. They are on their own to get things done. Naturally, they return from summer camps more confident and resilient.

Nurturetheir social skills

Social engagement rocks up at summer camps. Children learn to work with each other, manage conflict and find the importance of relationship building in life by keeping an eye out for their fellow camp partners who might need their help.

Make them physically tougher

A good summer camp has plenty of physical activities lined up for its little comrades, well disguised in the form of fun and games. There might be wall climbing, rowing, hiking or playing other physical activities that support your child’s physical development and makes them physically stronger.

Extend their education

Learning is more than textbooks and tests. Unplugged from classrooms, summer camps offer children an interactive learning environment where they get to go beyond the paper-based understanding of many real-life phenomena. In addition, they also learn new subjects—from painting to architecture—and discover their hidden talents in archery and canoeing.

Introduce them to their “leadership” side

Summer camp setting is all about taking the initiative and coming up with creative solutions to the many problems faced at the camp site. Your child won’t find a better place to learn about their leadership side.

Kids R Kids Learning Academy organizes summer camps for Watford Lakes community families every year. This time, our summer camp theme is Kaleidoscope 360°. To learn more about our 2019 summer camp, get in touch with us today.
