If previous years’ Library Months came and left without your family taking a single visit to your local library, then this is the year to change that! There are so many things that preschoolers enjoy doing at their local library. Below are just a few:
Hitting the Books!
Of course, the library is all about books, so reading is a given. Your preschooler will love being able to pick out their own books to bring home and read. Choose a couple of favorites, and a couple of topics that are new to your child!
Playing With the Toys.
Most libraries have a small area with toys that kids can play with. This is a great way for preschoolers to socialize and have some fun, while also stimulating their motor skills.
Listening to Stories.
Many libraries offer story time for kids, and preschoolers will love listening to the stories. Usually story time at a library includes a few surprises, such as visits from stuffed animals, or fun and easy songs to sing along to.
Doing Crafts.
Some libraries offer crafts for kids to do, and preschoolers will enjoy getting to make something fun and creative. Check out your local library’s website for information on activities and scheduling information.
Exploring the Library.
Just walking around and exploring the library is a great way for your preschooler to learn about all the different resources available to them.
Go visit your local library during this year’s Library Month. There are many pleasant surprises just waiting to be discovered by you and your preschooler at your local library, so better to discover them sooner than later!
