Cooler weather and shorter days make fall the perfect time to snuggle up inside and get creative. Whether it’s painting pumpkins or making tissue-paper trees, fall-themed crafts offer preschoolers a fun and meaningful way to explore the season.
Warm Colors, Cozy Projects
Introduce your preschooler to fall colors—red, orange, yellow, brown—and let them paint or color a tree full of bright leaves. Glue on real leaves, pom-poms, or pieces of tissue paper for texture. You can also create a “fall feelings” collage by cutting out magazine pictures or drawing what fall feels like—hot cocoa, sweaters, or jumping in leaves!
Don’t worry about perfection—preschool art is about the process, not the final product.
Craft Time = Connection Time
Art time can be a great chance to slow down and bond with your preschooler. Sit together, talk about your day, and let your child lead the project. Ask open-ended questions like, “What made you pick this color?” or “What’s happening in your picture?”
