Summer is here and is a great time for new experiences for your preschooler! Your little one may not be able to create a bucket list on his own, so below are a few ideas your preschooler is sure to love!
Parks
It is no secret children of all ages love parks! Summer is a great time to explore different parks in your area and find a new favorite area to play. Invite a friend along, so your preschooler has a play buddy or pack a picnic to enjoy in the shade.
Camping
Camping is likely the most popular summer activity and one most children love. There are tons of new experiences and exploration with camping. If traditional camping doesn’t fit into your schedule or just isn’t your thing, plan a campout in the backyard.
Car Wash
Washing the car is a chore for adults, but can be a blast for preschoolers! Grab a bucket, soap, a couple sponges, and the hose and teach your little one how to wash the car. It doesn’t have to result in a perfect wash job for your preschooler to have fun, enjoy bonding time, and be proud of her accomplishment of helping mom or dad wash the car!
Pick Berries
Unless your preschooler has a food allergy, berry picking is sure to be a hit! Find a nearby berry farm, grab a basket or two, and head out for a day filled with berry picking! Make some yummy treats when you return home. A few ideas are to blend the berries and freeze into popsicles, make berry shortcakes, bake a pie, or just enjoy them as nature intended!
PJ Day
Rainy days are inevitable, no matter what season it is. If the weather is icky, enjoy a pajama movie day. This ensures lots of cuddles with your preschooler! If the movie gets boring, build a blanket fort hideout and use a flashlight to make shadow puppets!
Kitchen Fun
Spend some time in the kitchen making homemade ice cream in a bag or in an ice cream maker. Plain vanilla ice cream only takes a few ingredients! Alternatively, whip up some popsicles to enjoy after a hot day in the sun!
