Summer is here! Time for some family fun! Grab your list, jump in the car, and see how many things you can knock off your list! If you need some ideas, check these out.
- Visit a museum. Many cities offer free days during the summer or discounts for children.
- Learn how to ride a bike. This is not an easy skill to master, but it is one your preschooler will not forget.
- Become an artist. Roll out some craft paper and put out the supplies and watch your child express himself through different mediums.
- Go to the zoo. It probably won’t be free, but a trip to the zoo is always a favorite activity amongst preschoolers.
- Have a water day. Whether it is a sprinkler, pool, water balloons, water guns, or a combination of things, bring on the water this summer!
- Find a new park. Most cities have several parks and since they are all unique, you can explore a new park with your toddler while getting some fresh air and sunshine at the same time.
- Make popsicles. By making some Kool Aid and using popsicle molds, you can have your own tasty treats in no time for a fraction of the cost.
- Gaze at the night sky. Not only are summer sunsets magnificent, but if you get outside the city, the twinkling stars and various phases of the moon are beautiful to behold.
- Send letters or pictures to family and friends. Teach your preschooler how the mail system works by keeping in touch with loved ones.
- Popcorn and movie night. Toddlers love staying up past bedtime. Have a special night with their favorite movie and snack.
While you are crossing things off your bucket list, keep in mind that it is not what you do or how much money you spend that matters to your child. They just love spending time with you!
