Preschooler-Friendly Recipes for Cold Weather

Preschooler-Friendly Recipes for Cold Weather at Kids 'R' Kids Medlock Bridge, preschool, daycare, learning academy, childcare

Running out of ideas for food on cold winter days? Here’s an idea for every meal of the day.

Greet your little ones in the morning with banana bread or pumpkin bread for breakfast with these recipes. Bake them in the loaf pan like the recipes say, or bake them in muffin tins to cut the baking time in half.

That mid-morning snack is going to come fast, so satisfy them with these Pretzel Snowmen. Make them together and once you’re all done with decorating them, it’s snack time!

Lunch is always a challenge. You just can’t predict how hungry little ones are going to be, so try out a recipe that is in small portion sizes like these Pepperoni and Cheese Crescents. They can eat as few or as many as they want and no one has to think about wasting a plate of food.

A nice soup for dinner is always a good option to help calm down the energy levels right before bedtime. Try out this Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup. Put all the ingredients in the pot in the morning, and let it cook all day to be ready in time for dinner. No chopping is required; just toss the ingredients in, and you’re ready to start the day!

The day isn’t complete without a dessert! Decorate these sugar cookies together with colorful icing and sprinkles, and then serve these with hot chocolate as you all gather together around the fireplace. Now would be a great time to bring out a good book to read together before bed!

These cold weather recipes are good for any time you’ve run out of ideas, or just want a change from what you’ve already been doing. We hope you and your little ones enjoy your winter break as you spend these cold weeks together.
