How to Have a Stress-Free Holiday with Your Preschooler

How to Have a Stress-Free Holiday with Your Preschooler

Well, maybe not totally stress-free, because that’s impossible, right?  However, with a little extra planning, you can reduce your stress and enjoy the holidays with your preschooler!  Check out these ideas for a stress-free holiday!

Plan ahead

Spend a few minutes here and there before the holidays planning dates for special meals, outings with the family, or parties with the neighbors.  Get all the dates on the calendar so you are ready for the month!

12 Days of Christmas

Rather than planning advent activities for every day of December, keep your list down to 12!  It will be much easier to manage 12 activities with your preschooler instead of 24. Choose activities that you can do at any time and won’t matter if you skip a day.

Print your recipes

Print out all your secret family cookie recipes and place them in a page protector.  Save them all in a three-ring binder. The page protector will protect your recipes from messy spills from your little kitchen helpers.

Say no to a few more things

Don’t try to take on everything this holiday season.  Don’t commit yourself or your children to every single festive activity.  Set aside family time at home and remember to take time for yourself. You’ll have more energy to give your family and more time to create special memories.

Spend a little extra time getting ready for your holiday season and you’ll have a stress-free holiday!  You’ll end the month ready for the New Year!
