Don’t break the bank buying gifts for your preschooler that will go by the wayside in just a few weeks! This season, save a few dollars by making a few gifts for your child to tuck under the tree. Here are some gift ideas for your preschooler that won’t cost money.
Invention box
Encourage creativity in your child by gifting them an invention box—that you can add to all year long! An invention box can include paper towel rolls, empty Kleenex boxes or oatmeal containers, unused craft supplies like pipe cleaners or scraps of fabric. When your child is building or having craft time, remind them about their invention box! If you are working on a project as a family, ask your preschooler what items from their invention box would help your project.
Old cell phone
Young children like copying mom and dad. Even just an old cell phone with a dead battery will offer hours of pretend play talking to grandparents and friends. Or, clear out a still operational phone that can only be used on WiFi. Add kid-friendly, educational apps and parental controls so that your preschooler isn’t able to accidentally add additional apps. Also show your child how to use the camera to take their own photos.
