With young children, Mother’s Day isn’t always the relaxing day we hope for, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a great day! The most important part of the day is the people you spend it with. Check out these five activities your preschooler and other family members can do together this Mother’s Day.
Go on a Picnic
If going to a fancy restaurant is too complicated or not your style, pack a picnic and eat lunch in a park! Pack your favorite foods, bring a blanket, and find a shady spot to enjoy lunch together.
Make a Craft
There are tons of craft ideas on the Internet these days that are perfect to make with your family. Whether you choose splatter paint, marbled paper, or jewelry, you and your child will make fun memories together and have beautiful keepsakes, as well.
Cook Together
Have some fun in the kitchen! Let your child help as you prepare one of your favorite dishes or desserts. Your preschooler probably can’t do much cooking yet, but they can help with things like measuring, setting the oven or timer, and mixing. While you do some of the more difficult parts of the recipe, your child can set and decorate the table!
Visit Somewhere Special
Check out the zoo, aquarium, or a museum as a fun Mother’s Day outing. Breaking out of the norm and visiting somewhere new will be fun for the whole family and a great way to spend some quality time together.
Have a Movie Marathon
If you’d rather stay in for Mother’s Day and lay low, have a movie marathon! Pick out some of your favorite movies, order pizza, and make some popcorn for the best day at home with your loved ones.
