Positivity is a great trait to have. It’s important to start cultivating this trait early in your child’s life so they are equipped to handle the difficulties that come in life. For preschoolers, it’s simple to keep things positive! Keep reading below for some tips on how to implement more positivity into your preschooler’s life.
Create a positivity box!
A positivity box doesn’t have to be anything fancy. It can simply be a plastic bag filled with strips of paper. On the strips of paper, write down happy memories that you and your little one have shared together, fun things you like to do together, or even funny stories that you have. When your little one’s thinking turns south, pull out the positivity box and read a few of the strips. By turning a negative moment into a positive recollection, the negative thoughts are sure to go away!
Be your child’s biggest motivator!
When your little one knows that you are supporting them and encouraging them in everything they do, they will feel more confident in themselves. Be cognizant about using positive language about yourself around them, as well. The way you treat you will ultimately rub off on them.
Have a reflection time at the end of the day!
It’s best to end the day on a positive note, so when you’re putting your little one to bed, have them think of three or so positive things that happened that day. Putting this little ritual into practice will not only help them think positively, but it will also leave them with happy thoughts when it’s time to go to sleep.
