Summer break is great, but missing friends is tough! If your preschooler is having a hard time being away from their preschool friends, there are lots of different things you can do to help cheer them up. Here are three ideas that will keep your child in touch with his besties over the summer.
Take a trip together!
If your schedules allow, take a trip with the family of your preschooler’s friend. Whether you do a small stay-cation or go on a trek across the country, traveling with friends is always fun and giving your child memories with their best friend is priceless!
Send a box of sunshine!
Everyone loves getting packages and preschoolers are definitely no exception! Help your little one package up a box of yellow-themed items to send to their friend. A few ideas include playdough, yellow candy, and a yellow bouncy ball! You could also print out a picture of your child and their friend and help your little one make a frame out of popsicle sticks and yellow decorations to go around it!
Sign your child up for a camp or activity with their friend!
If your community offers summer activities for kids and your child shows interest in one of them, reach out to their friend’s parents about signing up your children together! This way, your child will be having fun and learning something new but they won’t be doing it alone. Or, attend summer camp right here at our school! We have a great program planned that your children will love!
