When does hot chocolate taste the best? When is a fire your best friend? In the wintertime of course! And you don’t have to wait around for it to arrive, it’s already here! If you’re running out of fun ideas for you and your preschooler to try this winter, you’re in luck because we’re about to provide a few more.
Have An Indoor Picnic
When it’s too cold outside to have an outdoor picnic, why not bring it inside? Spread out some blankets on the floor in front of the fireplace and pack up some favorite snacks like sandwiches or play “restaurant” where you can order different meals (you could even use toy food). You’ll have tons of fun pretending with your child while also enjoying yummy snacks!
Design A Snowman Scene
Break out some construction paper for this one! Just cut out three circles of increasing size, glue them to each other like a chain of venn diagrams and voila! Suddenly you have a snowman. Get creative with accessories as you trace, color, and cut hats, scarves, and facial features for your snowman.
You and your preschooler will have so much fun trying out these activities together. By the time spring rolls around, you may not want to go outside! Now that’s a winter well spent.
