Looking Ahead to Spring Break with Preschoolers

Looking Ahead to Spring Break with Preschoolers at Kids 'R' Kids Greatwood, preschool, daycare, childcare

Planning for spring break can be a lot of fun! It can also be a momentous task! Doing anything with preschoolers takes a whole lot of planning and preparation in order for things to go as smoothly as possible. So, let’s dive right in and start from the beginning!

When you first start to think ahead to Spring Break, you will need to decide if you want to stay around your community or if you want to travel. When deciding this, be sure to factor in what types of activities are available both at home and abroad, and what kind of budget you will have during this time.

To Go

Traveling right now involves an extra measure of caution and awareness of health protocols. There are ways to travel safely though. Before deciding to cross the country, find out what kind of policies are in place for the area you want to visit.  Guidelines vary greatly state to state. You may be limited on where you can go due to pre-travel quarantine policies. So, look it up and make the proper arrangements. Order a nice big box of disposable masks in both adult and child sizes so you can dispose of them instead of worrying about keeping track of everyone’s masks and cleaning them constantly.

To Stay

If you decide to stay home, consider doing things that you don’t do on a normal day. Check around and see what will be open, what their guidelines for visiting are, and also what their hours and costs will be. As we still maneuver through this time of COVID-19, you may hit some bumps in the road, so planning early is key. Some ideas of things to do in your hometown or local area could be visiting a park or nature preserve, going to an indoor swimming pool, or taking a kids’ baking class. Maybe there’s a children’s museum nearby or a special amusement park or trampoline park you’ve been dying to check out! Call around and see if you can work them into your schedule!

Of course, it is always nice to just spend any extra days off from work and school relaxing and enjoying one another. Read those books! Watch those movies! Build those forts! As long as you are making happy memories with your children, that is all that matters!
