Special Programs
American Sign Language
Our program focuses on building students Sign Language vocabulary using songs, books, and interactive games. American Sign Language offers so many benefits to young children. It decreases frustration in infant and toddler classrooms by giving students a way to express their needs and wants. Studies show a link between early Sign Language skills and higher IQ's. Sign Language has also been shown to promote early literacy skills in preschool children.
Spanish
Scientists believe that children who learn a second language are likely to develop better critical thinking skills, as well as have more flexible and creative minds. Our program teaches basic vocabulary and conversational skills as well as the rich culture of the Spanish speaking world.
Japanese
Students will learn basic Japanese words and phrases while also exposing them to the traditions and culture of a country half a world away. Research proves that children who are exposed to multiple languages at an early age not only achieve much better results in languages, but also in math, science and music.
Music & Movement
Experts say music should be routinely taught in preschool to maximize children’s brain development. Our music instructor teaches not only songs, dances and finger plays, but also teaches about musical notes and symbols, instruments and musical genres.
Yoga
Yoga and mindfulness offer psychological benefits for children as well. A growing body of research has already shown that yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, and can even reduce anxiety and stress in children.
