Teaching our children what it means to pay it forward is a great way to show them what thankfulness looks like in action! Share with your preschooler that paying it forward means sharing with others because you have been blessed with more than you need. Check out 15 of our favorite ways to pay it forward during the Thanksgiving season!<\/p>\n

  1. Invite a friend to Thanksgiving dinner that might not have anywhere else to go.<\/li>\n
  2. Decorate name cards for everyone who is coming to Thanksgiving dinner and let them take them home as a favor.<\/li>\n
  3. Bake some small pies and deliver them to your neighbors.<\/li>\n
  4. In the mailbox, leave a thank you note for your mailman during such a busy season for them.<\/li>\n
  5. See if there is an elderly neighbor you can rake leaves for.<\/li>\n
  6. Make or buy a small gift for your child\u2019s teacher.<\/li>\n
  7. While grocery shopping for Thanksgiving Dinner, buy a $5 gift card and give it to someone walking into the store on your way out.<\/li>\n
  8. While you are in a coffee shop warming up, offer to buy coffee or hot chocolate for the person behind you.<\/li>\n
  9. Bring blankets to local homeless shelter.<\/li>\n
  10. Assemble Thanksgiving meals for those who maybe cannot afford one at the food bank.<\/li>\n
  11. Make and send cards to friends or family who may live far away.<\/li>\n
  12. Pass out festive stickers to children waiting in line at the store.<\/li>\n
  13. Do chores around the house to earn money for a charitable donation.<\/li>\n
  14. Hold the door open for a stranger.<\/li>\n
  15. Bring treats to a local police or fire station.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These acts of kindness are a tangible way to show our thankfulness for each of our many blessings. They will teach our children from a young age that it is important to share all we have with those around us.<\/p>\n
